I Dived In pg 5

At 31
I swam over and under -
around coral and islands.

Listened to dolphins,
immersed myself in seaweed,
held my breath,
bashed against the rocks
torn from shells
I almost drowned.

Delighted in sunshine,
survived inclement weather -
The waves persistently
pushing me further -
dived ever shallower
as the tide receded -

I washed up on the beach at 42

Gasping for air

Naked and reborn
